Carter County School Policy is that anyone applying for a position must pass a background check and a drug screening. This is at a cost to the applicant. The drug screening does not apply to substitute teachers.

POSITION:    Criminal Justice Teacher

LOCATION:   Happy Valley High School

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate or BS Degree in Criminal Justice is preferred.  Must have been employed one year full time continuously out of the past three years in law enforcement.  Post certification is required.

Successful candidates will be required to pass a full criminal background check, a drug screening, and a physical examination.

LOCATION:   Unaka High School

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree or higher and hold a current licensure or certification in an Allied Health Occupation, or current licensure as a Registered nurse in the State of Tennessee.  Applicants must have been employed full time for one year with the past three years.  Notarized letters on health care letterhead must be included verifying work experience.

*CNA, clinical, volunteering, and school hours do not count for experience.

Successful candidates will be required to pass a full criminal background check, a drug screening, and a physical examination.
