Answers
1)  Q How many books may students check out at a time?
A
Students may check out two books at a time from the regular collection. See the librarian if you need to check out more than two books (i.e., for a class project).
2)  Q How often do classes meet for library?
A
Teachers can sign up for library time whenever they need to. A weekly plan book is available at the circulation desk. The courteous limit is three days in a row for the same class. English classes come one day every two weeks for check-out time.
3)  Q Do you charge a fine for overdue books?
A
No late fees. However, like textbooks, there is a fee for lost or damaged books.
4)  Q How long may a student keep a library book?
A
Library books are checked out for TWO WEEKS at a time. However, you can return your book to the library as soon as you are finished with it! This keeps the book from getting lost, and it allows other students to check out the book sooner.
5)  Q May a student keep a library book longer than two weeks?
A
YES! You may renew a book as long as you are still reading it. (Some books take students longer than two weeks to read.)
6)  Q Is there a late fee or a fine for an overdue library book?
A
There is no late fee for books. Remember, you may return your library book ANYTIME! Just come to the library and drop it in a "book return" box. If you have an overdue book, you cannot check out another one until the book is returned.
7)  Q May I have two books checked out and still get an encyclopedia or other reference book?
A
Yes! Reference books are considered separate and not part of the "regular" collection.
8)  Q How long may I keep a reference book?
A
Reference books are checked out for one night. They must be returned the next day.
9)  Q Are fines charged for overdue reference books?
A
Yes, 10 cents a day. Additional books cannot be checked out until the reference book is returned. If you need copies of pages, please ask the librarian for assistance.
10)  Q What if I lose a library book?
A
Library books are like text books and are government property. Officially, if a library book is lost or damaged beyond repair, a replacement fee is charged. If anything happens to your library book, please let the librarian know as soon as possible, so we can solve the problem together.
